Electricity in Hawaii

In: Information

Hawaii depends on imported oil to supply about 90% of its energy needs. Being blessed with variety of other energy sources the State of Hawaii is actively supporting the development of a mix of renewable energy resources. These include wind and solar power, geothermal energy, biomass, hydropower and ocean thermal energy conversion.

If you are travelling to Hawaii from Australia you will need to buy an adaptor to convert 240v to 120v so you can use any electrical items you may have brought with you on holiday.

In Australia you can buy an adaptor from Dick Smith, K Mart or at the Airport.

In Hawaii go to Longs Drugs in the Ala Moana Shopping Centre.
