Located on the east shore of Lanai. Take the Keomuku Road (Highway 44) or route 430. You can drive around 6 miles (9.7km) along this rarely used road which will take you to the Garden of the Gods, Shipwreck Beach and the Munro Trail. The drive is well worth it because of the sheer beauty, passing through lush rainforest and views of the pristine beach.
Please note there are no gas stations or tourist facilities available. Once a thriving sugar town, Keomuku was left to ruin in 1901. Not much is left of the town except for the original structure of the Ka Lanakila O Ka Malamalama Church and a few of the original old wooden houses. At low tide you can see the remnants of ancient fish ponds.
So, if you are a keen fisherperson or lover of nature this is the ideal place for you to laze away a few hours.
