Molokini Crater is a great place for snorkelling and is located off the south coast of Maui.
Formed around 150,000 years ago Molokini Crater is an ancient volcanic atoll measuring 23 acres and has a diameter of 0.4 miles.
It is home to around 250 marine species and is a Hawaii State Seabird Sanctuary.
When you visit Molokini Crater you can expect to see the following –
Blue fin trevally, black triggerfish, manta rays, moray eels, reef sharks, ornate octopus, Picasso triggerfish, parrot fish, Achilles tang, yellow tang, yellow trump fish, white spotted puffer, threadfin butterfly, convict tang, moorish idol, Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, wedge-tailed shearwaters and the Bulwer’s petrel
